This weekend has gotten off to a nice start with the clearing up of vog and a bit of rain. If you get the chance you can add some excitement to this mild weathered weekend by heading over to North Shore and checking out the Triple Crown of Surfing. This weekend sees the Reef Hawaiian Pro in Haleiwa. Expect big crowds and big waves! Take a camera and stay out of the water- the waves are rough and are best saved for the pros!

As far as I can tell the events get under way after 11 am, so plan an early day and head to the shore to find parking and a spot on the beach. I would venture to guess that a beach blanket and some snacks would be suitable for an event like this, and take some cash for treats you will find from the beach vendors. Most importantly, don’t forget to grab a shave ice- Haleiwa boasts the best shave ice on the island!
