Visit the Only Palace in the U.S.
Iolani Palace is America’s only royal palace, and is conveniently located in Honolulu, among the tall buildings and busy streets. I highly recommend a visit to the palace, and that you learn the history or Hawaii, and the palace itself. I think doing so will give you a better understanding of how Hawaii has changed over the years, and how important the history and heritage of this land is to Hawaiian natives.
If you do some research you will find that there has been controversy over who the palace belongs to, and there have been a number of small palace take overs by sovereignty seekers. The palace is safe to visit though, and easy to get to, being located at King and Richard’s streets.
There is a small entrance fee, and credit cards are accepted. I suggest taking TheBus because the palace is close to Waikiki- there is no need to burn extra fuel for this excursion.
Consult www.iolanipalace.org for more details about the palace, which is open on Tuesdays thru Saturdays.

Wow! What a blast from the past! I lived on Oahu from 1987-1992 and I miss it terribly. Reading your blog was so nice…and I enjoyed the pic on your banner!! Post more! Thanks for a trip down memory lane!
